On the 8th March 2025, 27four hosted the annual Boeka in Wale and Rose Street in Bo-Kaap.
This event has become a calendar highlight in Bo-Kaap and a catalyst for other communities to follow suit and hold similar mass iftaar’s in their respective communities. This year’s event was no different, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds, reinforcing the values of community and generosity.
There was close to 2, 000 people gathered in the streets of Bo Kaap where community speakers, dhikrs and recitals took place, culminating in the participation of a mass iftaar. The community left with a sense of belonging and gratitude, reflecting on those less fortunate than us.
People of all races and religions joined the Muslim community in Cape Town for Iftaar, the fast-breaking evening meal during the time of Ramadan.
May all our endeavours this month to help the less fortunate transcend beyond Ramadaan, and throughout the year. May we all make a concerted effort to help those in need, and do our small part in community upliftment.
