Sanari Capital, a prominent private equity firm backed by 27four Investment Managers, has announced a USD 5 million (approximately R85 million) investment in iiDENTIFii, Africa’s leading digital biometric identity verification company. This investment forms part of a USD 15 million growth capital raise, marking the largest Series A funding round in Africa’s identity verification sector to date.
Founded in 2018, iiDENTIFii has rapidly established itself as a market leader in enterprise-grade biometric authentication technology. Its advanced face authentication solution enables secure, real-time user verification via mobile phones or PCs, serving major pan-African banks, insurers, and mining houses—including Standard Bank, Absa, and Investec—for both customer and employee authentication.
Sanari Capital’s investment, its third from the Sanari 3S Growth Fund, will support iiDENTIFii’s ambitious expansion across Africa.
